Iran eager to strike US bases
In the recent weeks, the talks to curb Iran’s nuclear program has failed as indicated by the US and Israeli state departments. Iran knows this to be the case as well, especially since they’ve threatened to destroy 35 US bases in the region. The confident rhetoric comes from successful Iranian missile tests that took place mere days ago. These tests and war games consisted of Iran firing missiles at ‘mock’ airbases and ships, which they say went off without a hitch. Since they now feel as if they can hit the broad side of a barn with a warhead, it’s time to ratchet up the trash-talk.WND.com’s F. Michael Maloof goes into detail about the most current Iranian threats:
Amid declarations by Iranian officials that U.S. warships are “easy” targets, the commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps’ Aerospace Force said he has “detailed contingency plans to hit 35 U.S. bases in the region in the early minutes of a possible conflict.”
Iran is no longer making general threats, they’re making targeted threats in accordance with their own military capabilities, which is never a good sign. Maloof talks about Iranian Brigadier General Amir Ali Hajizadeh’s statements on the matter:
Brigadier General Amir Ali Hajizadeh boasted the U.S. bases around Iran are “within the reach of our missiles.”Palestinian lands, he added, referring to Israel, “are good targets for us as well.”
He said more than 3,000 boats and dhows are trafficking, fishing and doing trade in the regional waters, and “they always go past the U.S. military ships from close distances.”“Now, the question is, how does the U.S. want to fight with us, while we enjoy such abackup?”To back up the claim, sources tell WND that Iran just tested a supersonic anti-ship ballistic missile, called the Khalij-e-Fars, or Persian Gulf, during the Payambar-e Azam 7 military war games. The test was 100-percent successful.”
At this point, considering the failed nuclear talks and rhetoric that states specifics of what Iran intends to do to US and Israeli forces, Maloof writes:
While Moscow believes progress was made at the latest round of talks about how to respond to Iran’s nuclear program, the U.S. and Israel have concluded diplomacy has run its course. That conclusion has raised considerably the possibility the West will exercise the military option against Iran’s nuclear facilities, prompting the flurry of warnings from high-level Iranian military officials.”
The question is, what has provoked such confident words from Iranian military leaders? Sure, they can claim to take out a few US bases with their shiny new missile system, and even hit Israeli bases as well; they can even block the Strait of Hormuz, causing gas prices to spike …for just about the entire world.
But let’s not forget the fact that the combined populations of Western and European countries will be very angry when gas prices spike, not to mention the fact that they must deal with the combined US and Israeli forces (and whoever would like to pitch in from NATO), who will now be gunning for them. At first, this was just just going to be a strike against their nuclear facilities …but we may just want to dispatch their entire military while we’re at it. Iran may be able to win the ‘early minutes’, but the US, Israel, and NATO will bring punishment for the following days.
It’s just a shame it might come to this; never underestimate an uneducated and tyrannically ruled society to attack with bullets in lieu of ideas.
