  No, you misunderstand my premise. I agree that allowing religious laws to infiltrate America is a bad idea. I also don't disagree that there are as you call them "bad guys" out there who are Muslims, nor do I suggest that singing kumbaya is the answer for them (or for bad people of any persuasion). HOWEVER it is a huge mistake to assume that all Muslims are extremists or that all bad guys are Muslims as both are quite obviously false. The latter leads us to ignore the real problems out there, and the former makes us intolerant bigots no better than the people we are concerned about. Again, if one truly believes that all 1.5 billion Muslims are inherently evil, then the only rational solution is to kill them all or to force them to convert, neither of which tends to be looked upon kindly by history.
  
  I live in a place with radical Muslims but I also know many, many moderate Muslims of varying religiousness much like I know Christians, Buddhists, Jews, Wiccans, whatevers of various levels of what can be called fundamentalism.
  
  As for a religion built on oppression, conquest, murder, servitude, and enslavement, please don't make me go into the long rather sordid details of the history of western Christian civilization, or the equally sordid details of ancient Judaism, both of which do continue today albeit to a lesser extreme. If you are going to treat every Muslim you see as The Enemy, then you will create your own self-fulfilling prophecy of meeting no one but the Enemy. How do you think moderate Muslims will react to that, to thinking that you hate them all? The same way YOU are, by wanting to strike before they are struck. It's all stupid and leads nowhere.
  
  And yes, the first amendment freedoms belong equally to Muslims, and like with any other group those freedoms end where they infringe upon the rights of others or break the law. You don't have to like that, but you do need to respect it.

  Wrong. The tenets and beliefs of the Catholic church are not Christian and lead believers away from true Christianity, the same as Mormons, seventh-day-adventists and others that are not by biblical definition, Christian. But let's get back to the point and the threat. 
  
  You cannot claim that Sharia based Islam (Wahhabism) isn't a threat. Look at what they're doing in Europe. the have laws and constitutions too. ISLAM does not care. 
  
  They are encouraged to LIE to INFIDELS (us) and do whatever it takes to hasten the 12th Iman (look it up) and kill everyone worldwide who doesn't convert. You included. they could care less that you want to "understand them". this is not fear-mongering. It's saying "the house is on fire" when the house us on fire. They don't play Chess.
